Real and London Borough of Ealing secure planning consent for £117m regeneration scheme
22 July 2021

The scheme designed by Pollard Thomas Edwards, will see the delivery of 505 new homes consisting of 227 affordable and 278 private apartments and houses, a replacement residents community centre, a new shop, courtyards and parks for relaxation and play.
The team worked closely with landscape architects to ensure the spaces in-between the homes are considered homes themselves.
As part of the sustainability strategy, there will be a centralised energy centre to provide heat and hot water to the new development which will utilise communal air source heat pumps combined with low NOx gas boilers and photovoltaic panels.
The successful application was shaped by extensive dialogue with the estate residents. Presented on a dedicated public consultation website and through larger exhibition events for neighbours and the wider community to view and comment on proposals.
A ballot was held in line with the Mayors new requirements half-way through the engagement and design process and a staggering 90% of residents voted in favour of the proposals.
Paul Nicholls CEO of Real Places Ltd: “We are a further step closer to delivering much needed new homes for the borough and look forward to continuing the strong partnership we have with London Borough of Ealing and the community to take the project to the next stage and commence Phase 1 in 2022. This project is accessible, sustainable and will be a great place to live!”
Securing resolution to grant planning permission is a great achievement for the partnership and they hope to start on site early 2022.
