Real appointed to build 127 new homes on brownfield site in Ashford
04 May 2022

The scheme which was designed by dn-a architects and will be project managed by Gleeds will include five family homes, eight three-bedroom flats, 78 two-bedroom flats and 36 one-bedroom flats.
Spelthorne Council reached an agreement with Ashford & St Peter’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to acquire the land that made this 100 per cent affordable scheme possible. As part of the deal the new homes will be allocated to key workers as a priority.
The thoughtfully designed scheme will offer ample car parking and high-quality landscaped areas for the new residents to enjoy. The energy efficiency conscious project will also include electric vehicle charging points, air-source heat pumps and brown roofs to help keep energy bills as affordable as possible.
Paul Nicholls, Chief Executive at Real, said:
“It is fantastic to have been appointed to work on a scheme that will benefit residents as the cost-of-living crises, combined with high housing costs in the local areas really starts to bite. It is a real privilege to be able to provide such a good quality genuinely affordable housing for NHS key workers who do such vital work.”
